Construction of Talar Right Bank new Canals and Drainage System and related structures (IDM/W205)

This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business of November 22, 2004 on-line and in DG Market.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of the Alborz Integrated Land & Water Management Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for Construction of Talar Right Bank new Canals and Drainage System and related structures, Package No. IDM/W205.  The Mazandaran Regional Water Company (MRWC) intends to pre-qualify contractors and/or firms for construction of Talar Right Bank new Canals and Drainage System and related structures. It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in Nov. 2008. The local bidders shall have a minimum grade of 2 in Water discipline according to the grade classification of Management and Planning Organization of Iran.

Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the guidelines.

Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification document at the Mahab Ghodss Consulting Engineering Co. (address below) from 09:00 A.M, to 04:00 P.M Saturday to Wednesday. A complete set of the prequalification document in English or a translated version in Farsi may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of 1 Million Rials to Current Account No. 12655 with Bank Mellat, Vahid Dastgerdi Branch, Tehran, Iran, in favors of Mahab Ghodss or USD 110 through Bank Saderat Iran, Nahid Branch, Tehran, Iran, Account No. 100385. The document shall be sent by courier and/or made available at the following address if the interested applicant decides to pick up the documents instead:

Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by 14:00 (local time) of November 2, 2008 and be clearly marked “Application to Pre-qualify for Construction of Talar Right Bank new Canals and Drainage System and related structures (IDM/W205).”
